From a young age, I found myself drawn to the world of pregnancy and childbirth, and I often wonder if it was my mother's career in the ob/gyn department that initially sparked my fascination. Whether it was destiny or an inherent passion, my interest in the field of birth work has always been a part of me.
While my initial career path led me to a fulfilling 10-year role in Healthcare Management at New York Presbyterian Hospital, it was during this time that I discovered my calling in birth work and advocacy. My personal experience with pregnancy and childbirth, coupled with the invaluable experiences I gained in healthcare has shaped me into a dedicated advocate for expectant families, weaving together my professional expertise with a commitment to nurturing the mind, body, and spirit.
In 2020, I officially embarked on a Doula Mentorship Program with Manhattan Birth, a decision driven by the connection I feel to this work and my commitment to continue supporting families on their journey through pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum.
My goal is to provide not just practical guidance but also a warm, nurturing presence that captures the full spectrum of the birthing experience. It's an honor to bring this unique blend of skills and heartfelt dedication to every family I have the privilege to support!

Having spent the initial few months of my postpartum period in the Dominican Republic, I was privileged to be immersed in the wisdom of the tradition of cuarentena, a 40-day postpartum recovery period. During this time I received nurturing care, nourishment, and physical healing. As your postpartum doula, I draw from this traditional knowledge to offer you support in recovering from childbirth, caring for your newborn(s), guidance with feeding goals, and the preparation of nourishing postpartum foods. I also provide overnight newborn care to ensure that you’re fully rested as part of your healing. My focus is on providing care that enables you, as a new parent, to thrive and truly heal.

A letter to my doula, Milta
I’ve read about a doula’s impact in a mother’s experience in labor. I didn’t have a doula the first time around and quite frankly almost dismissed the idea of one this pregnancy. I didn’t know how powerful and necessary a doula’s presence could actually be until you met me in labor and delivery that Friday morning. Your affirmations through my contractions, your strength and true passion for what you do helped me tremendously during a time where fear could have taken over. When things became challenging you came around with reassurance and gentleness, you remained in a positive mindset and reminded us we were the ones in charge. Through the unexpected twists and turns, you were grounded. Your selflessness, the time spent holding me, fanning me, supporting my partner, working your magic with the hospital staff, did not go unseen.
The moment you helped me latch my daughter initiated what now has become a new journey. Thank you for being a part of such a grand experience in my life as I brought baby girl earth side.
